Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO): approximately 25 minutes by car. This is the closest airport and the most convenient option. Ryanair operates direct routes from many UK and European cities. A taxi from the airport costs approximately €40–€50.
Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN): approximately 2 hours by car. A wider range of airlines and connections, but a longer transfer. Car hire from Barcelona is straightforward and gives you flexibility during your stay. Alternatively, a train from Barcelona Sants to Girona takes around 35–40 minutes, from where a taxi to Can Campolier is a further 25 minutes.
Can Campolier is at Can Campolier, 17834 Porqueres, Girona, Spain — 30 minutes from Girona city, above the Lake of Banyoles. We recommend booking taxis in advance; we can help arrange transfers on request.
Yes, and we encourage it. Can Campolier has a fully equipped basement workshop with secure, locked bike storage. Hand us your bike box on arrival and our mechanic will build and check your bike so it is ready to ride the same day. At the end of your stay, the bike is carefully disassembled and repacked for travel.
The workshop package costs €50 (initial fee) + €10 per day additional labour. Parts and consumables are charged at cost. The package includes bike build, daily wash and safety check, on-the-fly adjustments, and bike pack at departure.
Additional services available include professional bike fitting, tubeless conversion, component upgrades, and emergency repairs. The workshop is open daily 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. See our workshop page for full details.
Yes. The estate and surrounding area offer plenty for guests who don’t ride, or who want a gentler pace.
On the estate: a heated saltwater pool with uninterrupted views to the Pyrenees, a barrel sauna, a vegetable garden, olive groves, and a large events courtyard. The estate is set on a hilltop with space to walk, read, and simply be.
Nearby: Lake Banyoles — one of the most beautiful lakes in Spain — is a 10-minute drive. It has flat walking paths, kayak hire, and excellent waterside restaurants. The medieval villages of the Pla de l’Estany are within easy reach by car, as is Girona’s historic old town (30 minutes).
Touring e-bikes (€65/day) are available for guests who want to explore the countryside without the effort of road cycling — the hills around Banyoles are effortless on electric assist.
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to October) are the best months. Temperatures sit between 15°C and 25°C, roads are quiet, and the landscape is at its most photogenic. March and April are the months when professional teams base themselves in Girona before the spring classics — it’s common to share road space with WorldTour riders.
Summer (June to August) is hot — temperatures regularly exceed 35°C in the afternoon — but early-morning rides (departing by 7:00 AM) are excellent. Gravel routes through shaded forest tracks are a good option mid-summer.
Winter (November to February) is mild by northern European standards (8–15°C) and roads are virtually empty. Mountain routes may be cold or occasionally icy at altitude, but the valleys around Banyoles ride well year-round.
We are open year-round. Our guided tours and seasonal camps run primarily in spring and autumn.
